Engineering Manager / QA Director

Required Qualifications:
Currently seeking an Engineering Manager / QA Director. Employee must be productive, organized, and have the ability to prioritize This position will require supervising all quality control functions, ability to interface with the FAA and customers, oversee all engineering activities, and will be responsible for obtaining repair approvals for damage in critical areas not covered by original equipment manufacture’s technical data.
 
 
Primary responsibilities are:
  1. Coordinate internal audits to be conducted. Prepare for and ensure success for all external audits (FAA, CASE, customer).
  2. Oversee procedures, documentation, training, compliance, and policies. This includes repair station manual, training files, inspection procedures and manuals, QA procedures and manuals, tech data, specifications, vendor lists and files, calibration data and files, process specifications, travelers, and warranty records production tooling.  
  3. Research and development for new products.
  4. Approve documents for FAA data packages on PMA and STC Products.
  5. Review repairs before being sent out for approval to include write up repairs for O.E. M, D.E.R, or customer approval.
  6. Ensure team updates incoming revisions to manuals, filing responses, and drawing. Use blueprints or drawings to look up part numbers and dimensions. Illustrates tools for shop use and issues engineering approved drawings
  7. Maintain list of personnel approved to return parts to service.
  8. Conduct periodic quality checks on work of inspectors and staff to validate performance of staff. Provide leadership to staff. Train and mentor staff as needed.
  9. Responsible for the overall quality control of receiving, the process, and final inspections. Oversee the disposition of non-conforming parts and materials. Ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  10. Ensure that all work is being inspected and performed in accordance with approved data.
  11. Maintain the flow of parts through the ship with customer specific technical data.
  12. Obtain substantiation for repairs not covered in technical data.  
  13. Research and development of data packages, drawings, and procedures for new products.
 
Desired Qualifications:
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in related discipline with ten years experience in quality in a FAR 145 repair station or Aerospace environment.
  2. A&P license with experience as a journeyman mechanic.
  3. Candidate must possess a complete technical understanding and application knowledge of aircraft manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and corrective action.
  4. Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulation for repair and manufacturing.
  5. Excellent communication, leadership, computer skills, and ability to work overtime as needed.
  6. Detailed experience with audits (FAA, CASE, and customer).
  7. Demonstrated in-depth know-how in the application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practices as well as comprehensive leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating work schedules to meet deadlines or milestones.
  8. Must possess the ability to resolve complex management and technical problems.
  9. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and computer skills. Must have the flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  10. Must be effective at interfacing with other departments, all levels of employees and customers, and potential customers.
